 Muse...

What is art?  The proverbial question.  Is there a correct answer?  Listen to yourself and find your own definition within.

I have grown through my life to know, inside myself, that art comes in many forms.  I have studied many mediums to know that, for myself, I work best in small scale, three-dimensional forms.  I have also realized that I love working in metal; silver, gold, steel, copper, and others.  Through these discoveries I have come to the conclusion that jewelry is my medium of choice, my essence.

Jewelry is not typical Fine Art.  But, does that mean that jewelry cannot be art?  Can jewelry be a means of expression other than beauty and adornment?  Can necklaces be big, can earrings be pointy, and can rings be tall?  Can jewelry function with the intimate voice of the creator and echo the voice of the wearer?  Is it okay for jewelry to be created with the intention of it to be worn only occasionally?  Or is jewelry always meant to be an everyday item, a quiet expression of beauty?

I ask you to look at these pieces, and decide for yourself.  Can jewelry and art co-exist?
