Torch-Fired Liquid Enamel on Copper
In this fun and colorful workshop, students will learn how to create one-of-a-kind enamel pieces using liquid from white enamel on copper. We will discuss enamel consistency, application, sgraffito designs, and try both kiln firing, and torch firing. As we explore the possibilities, we will create several sample pieces and you will see how this contemporary enameling technique allows for the unique and interesting addition of color to jewelry designs by adding extra heat.
Along with the samples, students will leave with a finished pair of earrings or a pendant to wear home.
What a fun way to get insight into the world of enameled jewelry! Basic metalsmithing experience is not a requirement, but can be helpful.
This two-day workshop meets in my Charlottesville, VA studio. I will be there enjoying the class with you and assisting Annie.
